Bill Holloway will enter his sixth season as anassistant coach for the Mount St. Mary’s tennis programs in2013-14.

Since joining Phil Hammond’s staff in 2008-09, Hollowayhas helped the Mount to a 59-43 record on the women’s sideand a 48-56 mark for the men’s team.

The Salisbury, Md. native was an accomplished tournament player,ranking in the top 10 in the Middle Atlantic as a junior player and20th in the region in the over-35 category later in his career.

As his high school’s No. 1 singles player, Hollowayadvanced to the Maryland State Championships quarterfinals on twooccasions and represented the Middle Atlantic in the NationalJunior Davis Cup competition as a junior.

After high school, Holloway joined the Navy and played tennisfor a regional Navy tennis team.  Holloway and his doublespartner won the 5th Naval District's tennis tournament andparticipated in various singles and doubles tournaments as well asteam events.

As an adult player, he won the J. Richard Ramsburg Doublestournament once and was runner-up four times. Holloway was afinalists in the Rice Radcliffe Singles tournament three times anda semi-finalists eight times and was a two-time winner of theover-35 singles tourney.  

Regionally, Holloway has played in various Middle Atlantictennis tournaments, winning the Ocean City event in 1986 when heranked 20th in the Middle Atlantic over-35 category.
