MURPHY FILE: Played and started 16 games in his senior campaign... Named to the All-Northeast Conference second team... Finished his career ranking in the Top-5 in saves, minutes played and shutouts on the program's all-time lists... Tallied 83 saves, a 1.36 goals against average and a .783 saves percentage in 2006...  Ranked nationally for saves in his senior year... Finished his career with a 12-7-2 mark in Emmitsburg... Recorded three straight shutouts to start the season... Held sixth-rank Maryland off the scoreboard in the first half and turned away seven shots in a 2-0 loss on Sept. 14, 2006... Made 10 saves against 17th-ranked Kentucky, who also had the nation's top offense and leading scorer on Sept. 17, 2006... Turned away seven shots against Monmouth on Oct. 15, 2006... Notched a season-high 11 saves against Long Island on Oct. 22, 2006... Posted seven saves against Sacred Heart on Oct. 27, 2006... HIGH SCHOOL: As a three-year letterwinner at DeMatha, posted 32 shutouts and a 0.63 career goals against average...Named All-State, All-County first team, All-Conference first team and All-Metropolitan Area first team (by the Washington Post) his senior season...His senior year he recorded 11 shutouts and a 0.29 goals against average leading DeMatha to it's first ever national ranking...Helped lead DeMatha (16-3-3) to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) championship as a sophomore.

PERSONAL: Majoring in history...Chose the Mount over Loyola, American and the United States Military Academy... Youngest of two sons to Leslie and George Murphy...Mark Edward Murphy was born April 19, 1984, in Clinton, Md...Trained with Skonto Riga, one of the top teams in Latvia, over the summer of 2005... Played in the Professional Development League for the Chesapeake Athletic Dragons in 2003-2004, the Reading Rage in 2005 and Thunder Bay Chill (Ontario, Canada) in the summer of 2006.
