EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 4, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's women's rugby will open their 2026 campaign with a home opener at Echo Field against LIU on Saturday at noon, with the Mountaineers hoping to begin the season on the right foot against the Sharks.
Mount Update
Last year the Women's Rugby team finished their 15's season with a record of 5-2-1 after defeating La Salle with a walk-off try from
Lily Myers. During their 7s season, they advanced to the CRAA Championships, facing high level competition falling to Harvard, Dartmouth and Lindenwood. There are many key returners to this team with
Cali Dietz leading the charge in tackles,
Neely Denlinger helped to score points from conversions and
Sydney Sibilia using her speed to fight off defenders to get to the try line to score. To add to this talented team, there is the addition of seven new players to the roster this season looking to add their talents in.
