EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 26, 2026) – Sophomore
Raylon Murry was the man of the match for Mount St. Mary's men's rugby as they fell to the Mary Washington Eagles, 31-26. The Detroit, Michigan product finished with two tries and a team-high 12 tackles.
Murry's tries both came in the second half, scoring in the 63
rd minute and the 81
st minute.
Fionn Moroney also added his name to the try sheet with a second half score. Conversion kicks were made by
Jacob Gandy and
Benjamin Quiroga. Gandy impressed on defense as well with eight tackles.
Mary Washington built up a 26-7 lead at the break, with the Mount scoring on a penalty. The home side made a valiant charge with their 19 second half points, but one further try by the Eagles proved the difference in the match.
The Mount is now 1-2 this season with the result.
