EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 3, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball fell to Merrimack in game three of their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference series by a score of 16-6. With the loss, the Mountaineers fell to an overall record of 19-25 with a MAAC record of 11-16,
Merrimack took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning before one swing of
Bryce Rudisill's bat cut the deficit to one after the first baseman from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania sent out a solo home run to right center. The Warriors tacked on two more runs in the top of the second before
Alex Mendes doubled in the bottom half of the third, scoring
Evan Meier to cut the lead two.
After Merrimack extended their lead once Again in the top half of the fourth to 7-2,
Cameron Biller singled to right center, scoring
Ty Fredo and
David Stokely to cut the lead to 7-4. Merrimack jumped out to a 13-4 lead by the end of the fifth inning, with the Mountaineers cutting the deficit once again when
David Stokely grounded out to the pitcher, scoring
Christian Bauman. The Mountaineer's final run came during the bottom of the eighth after Biller ground out to the short stop, scoring Stokely from third base.
Biller led the Mountaineers on the day from the plate, knocking in three RBIs while going 2-4. Stokely went 2-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while Mendes went 2-4 as well, knocking in a single RBI. Meier, Bauman, Rudisill, Fredo, and
Phoenix Williams all recorded solo hits against Merrimack on Sunday afternoon.
