Mountaineers Demolish Bucknell in 14-2 Drubbing in Lewisburg

LEWISBURG, Pa. (April 8, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball came out in the win column of the away return game against Bucknell on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Bison 14-2 while triggering the run rule after seven innings. With the win, the Mount improves their overall record to 14-15 while retaining their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference record of 7-8 ahead of this weekend's series with Saint Peter's.

Two runs came across the plate in the first inning as Ty Fredo singled to center field, driving in Alex Mendes while David Stokely reached first base on a fielding error, scoring Fredo to extend the early lead. Mendes came to the plate later in the second inning, doubling to center field to drive in Sam Meyer.

With the bases loaded in the top of the third inning, Mike Toth was hit by a pitch, driving in Ty Fredo for the Mount's fourth run of the day. Later in the third inning, Carson Clark singled to send both Stokely and Evan Meier home to score followed by a Ryan McKay single that drove Toth in to score, capping off a four run Mountaineer third.

Even more runs came in during the Mountaineer fourth, as Toth singled up the middle to score both Meier and Fredo. Clark singled later in the inning to drive in Toth while Mendes capped off the run out pour, as a single from the first baseman scored both McKay and Clark to extend the lead to 12-0.

Bucknell batted two runs across the plate in the sixth and seventh inning, but Christian Bauman two-run home run to right field in the top of the seventh cut off any real chance of a Bison comeback before the run rule came into effect.

Both Mendes and Clark went 2-3 on the day with three RBI while Bauman and Toth both batted two runs in. Fred went 1-3 on the day, scoring three runs against Bucknell while working a walk. And Ryan McKay went 1-3, working a walk while scoring a run and batting in a RBI.

Riley Williams logged two innings on the mound, notching a strikeout while Jakob Foster earned his fourth win of the year, throwing 3.0 innings of scoreless baseball. Nate Berzonski and Josh Halcisak notched an inning of relief each while Berzonski led the staff with two strikeouts on Wednesday.
