Niagara University, N.Y. -- Mount St. Mary's men's tennis extended its winning streak to three matches with a commanding 7–0 victory over Niagara. The Mount improved to 6–9 overall and 3–1 in MAAC play, while Niagara fell to 0–11 (0–5 MAAC).
Mount captured the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Alexi Roy and Ryan Wagner defeated Ary Bhawan and Shravan Somasi 6–2, and Alessio Guarino and Akarsh Gaonkar followed with a 6–3 victory over Ekansh Shukla and Sarosh Rustomjee. At No. 1 doubles, Niagara led Nikos Makris and Stefanos Pournaropoulos 5–4 when the match was unfinished.
The Mount dominated singles play, winning all six matches. Stefanos Pournaropoulos led the way at No. 1 with a 7–6 (8–6), 6–4 win over José Maria García. Akarsh Gaonkar followed with a 6–3, 7–6 (7–5) victory at No. 2, while Alexi Roy posted a 4–6, 6–1, 7–6 (7–5) triumph at No. 3. Ryan Wagner (6–0, 6–0), Alessio Guarino (6–1, 6–2), and Luke Papayoanou (7–5, 4–6, 6–3) completed the sweep.
