Emmitsburg, Md. — Mount St. Mary's delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday, sweeping Saint Francis U, 6-1, behind a clean doubles effort and five singles victories. With the win, the Mount improves to 5-9 overall and has now won two matches in a row.

The Mount set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. The duo of Stefanos Pournaropoulous and Nikos Makris rolled to a 6-2 win at No. 1, while Ryan Wagner and Alexi Roy edged their opponents 7-5 at No. 2. Alessio Guarino and Akarsh Gaonkar capped the sweep with a 6-3 victory at No. 3.

In singles play, Mount St. Mary's continued its strong showing, winning five of six matches—four of which were decided in match tiebreaks. Pournaropoulous battled back after dropping the opening set to earn a 6-7 (2-7), 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) victory at No. 1. Gaonkar, Roy, and Wagner each followed a similar script, securing three-set wins in tightly contested matches.

Guarino provided the most decisive singles result of the day, cruising to a straight-set 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6. Saint Francis U's lone point came at No. 5 singles, where Beau Welker outlasted Makris in a three-set battle.
