BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Mount St. Mary's men's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks improve to 6-4 on the season, while the Mount falls to 2-7.
Lehigh secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Sean Jaeger and Alex Van Lumich edged Stefanos Pournaropoulos and Nikos Makris 7-5 at No. 1 doubles, while Kosei Ogata and James Gracie followed with a 6-4 victory over Joshua Johnson and Alessio Guarino at No. 3. The Mount's win in doubles came at No. 2, where Alexi Roy and Ryan Wagner defeated Matthew Anzilotti and Henry Stoller 6-3.
In singles play, Lehigh clinched the match with victories at Nos. 2, 3, and 1. Van Lumich defeated Roy 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, while Ogata posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Wagner at No. 3. Jaeger secured the deciding point at No. 1 singles, topping Pournaropoulos in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 6-0.
The remaining singles matches were left unfinished once Lehigh reached the four points needed for the team victory.
