URBANA, Md. (March 22, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's increases their lead by one stroke to win the Carpetbagger Classic in Urbana, Maryland on Sunday. Shooting another 290 (+2) on day two allowed the team to hold onto their lead to finish first after two phenomenal days of play that saw 34 birdies spread across the team, which allowed the Mount to take the tournament four strokes ahead of LaSalle and Bryant.
Force Kosalutta led the Mountaineers by finishing in third with a gross score of 141 (69-72, -3).
LaSalle and Bryant finished with a two-stroke lead over Monmouth in fourth on the team leaderboard. For the individual leaderboard, Jackson Roman of Loyola Maryland (IND) finished first with a score of 137 (-7).
To round out the Mount's team effort for first place,
Santiago Bonequi finished tied for fifth with a gross score of 143 (70-73, -1), while
Tyler Fortney finished tied for 21
st with a gross score of 147 (75-72, +3).
Bryan Hernandez finished tied for 30
th with a score of 149 (76-73, +5), while
Brent Glah finished tied for 61
st with a score of 154 (77-77, +10).
For the two golfers who played independently from the Mount this weekend,
Daniel Shelley finished tied for ninth with a gross score of 144(72-72, E) and
Nathan Pheng finished tied for 56
th with a score of 152 (76-76, +8).
