WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 16, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swim and dive split their dual meet with American on Friday, with the men beating the Eagles 119-103 while the women fell by a score of 155-85. With the result, the men's team extend their winning streak against the Eagles to 2-0, first swimming against the American on October 6, 2023, winning by a final score of 130-88 in Emmitsburg.
On the men's side of the meet, the men's relay team of
Todor Gospodinov,
Adam Jozsa,
Parker Koenig, and
Lucas Hancock placed first in the men's 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:33.97. The same team placed first in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay Team with a time of 1:27.21 while the team of Alexy Tselichtchev,
Antonio Gurri,
Isaac Hancock, and
John Haskins placed first in the B-Cut of the event with a time of 1:31.06. In the 200-Yard IM, Jozsa placed first with a time of 1:57.08 while also winning the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 57.62. His relay mate, Koenig, placed first in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 52.25 while
Austin Toland won the 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 47.87.
In the women's 200-Yard Medley relay event, the team of
Hanna Aggen,
Christina Lazari,
Carmen Del Aguila, and
Madison Murphy placed first with a time of 1:47.71. In the women's 200-yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Aggen, Murphy,
Cecilia Hetzel, and
Gabriella Douglas placed second with a time of 1:42.76. Del Aguila edged her opponent 200-Yard Freestyle by .02 second, winning the event with a time of 1:55.09 while
Theodora Kanellopoulou placed second in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 2:15.07.
Julie Uecker placed second in the women's 1-Meter diving and third in the 3-Meter diving with scores of 198.05 and 169.35 respectively.
