EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 8, 2025) –Mount St. Mary's men's soccer returns home Tuesday evening, as the Mountaineers host the Duquesne Dukes.
MOUNT UPDATE
A wild finish was in store for those attending the Mount St. Mary's home opener Friday night. All goals came in the final 20 minutes, including two in the final five.
Luciano Schiaffini scored first, giving Mount the lead in the 74
th minute after sending a home rebound shot off
Abou Cherif. After Lasalle answered, Jake Kehoe took a free kick from
Oliver Brown and headed the shot into the net to go, as the Mountaineers and Explorers fought to a 2-2 draw.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
Duquesne enters the match unbeaten with a 3-0-1 record, earning victories over Seton Hill, Canisius, and the number 7
th ranked Syracuse, while drawing against Robert Morris. The Dukes close out their three-game road swing in Emmitsburg, looking to carry their momentum forward. On offense, Lucas Kelley, and Alexandru Zama have each found the back of the net, while redshirt senior goalkeeper Diego Chavez continues to be a difference maker. Chavez earned his third shutout of the 2025 season in the win over Syracuse, recording a season high nine saves to anchor the Duke's defense.

The Mountaineers and Dukes have just met once before, on September 24
th, 2024, when Duquesne edged Mount St. Mary's 2-1 in Pittsburgh.
