EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 27, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's rugby fell 38-7 to Queens on Saturday at Echo Field. With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to a record of 2-2-1 though the first five games of the Fall XV's season.
The Mountaineers found themselves down 24-0 to the Royals at halftime. A red card issued to Mount Second Rower
Sophia Mathis in the first half meant that the Mountaineers played a player down for the rest of the match, holding off a relentless Royals offense.
Mount St. Mary's got on the board after the halftime intermission in the 45
th minute when
Koda Hall found a gap through the Queens defense to, sliding past players and toughing the ball down in the try zone.
Shaniah Mayers dispatched an easy conversion kick for the Mountaineers for the points after, down 24-7. Queens went on to score two more tries in the half to guarantee a win for the visitors in Emmitsburg.
