EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 15, 2025) – Jennifer Sorkin leads Mount St. Mary's golfers after the first day of the Battle at the Beach tournament with the only top ten placement. As a team, the Mountaineers are sixth on the leaderboard, shooting a gross score of 615 (308-307, +47).

On the team leaderboard Bucknell University holds first place, one stroke ahead of Columbia in second. Columbia holds second with a 13-stroke lead over Lehigh. On the individual leaderboard, Jessie Burch of Sacred Heart holds first with a score of 142 (E).

Sorkin is tied for fourth place following a 146 day (73-73, +4). Naomi Yacyshen stands on the precipice of the top 10, standing tied for 14^th with a +9 score of 151 (74-77).
 
To round out the scorecard, Makensy Knaub and Camryn Hoff stand tied for 47^th with a gross score of 159 (+17) between both rounds of play. Knaub shot an 81 in round one and a 78 in round two, while Hoff shot an 80 in round one and in round two shot 79.  Summer Stroop completed the first two rounds with a score of 176 (90-86, +34).
