GAME 1: Lehigh 6, Mount St. Mary's 1
Lehigh jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning en route to a 6-1 victory in the opening game of the twinbill.
The Mountain Hawks took the lead on Lindsey Martin's two-out two-run double in the top of the first while Peyton Sward followed with a base hit to plate Martin to make it 3-0.
The Mount threatened in the bottom of the inning when leadoff hitter
Gina Del Giorno tripled to right center field, but Lehigh pitcher Chloe Hess buckled down and got out of the inning without allowing a run.
Mount St. Mary's got its run in the bottom of the second inning. Gallagher was hit by a pitch, and
Emily Felice followed with a bunt over the charging third baseman for a hit to put runners on first and second with no outs. Murphy lined out to right, but the throw back to second trying to double up Gallagher went wild, allowing Gallagher to score.
Lehigh's Rory Dudley drove home a run with a triple in the third, Kelly Fricker hit a solo homer in the sixth, and Sydney Parlett tripled home a run in the seventh to close out the scoring.
Murphy started in the circle for the Mount, allowing four runs (three earned) in four innings while Bowman allowed two runs over the final three innings. At the plate, Del Giorno, Manni, Felice and
Lia Festa each had a hit for the Mountaineers.
GAME 2: Lehigh 4, Mount St. Mary's 3
The Mountain Hawks spoiled the party a second time, as Lehigh earned a come-from-behind win by scoring four runs in the top of the sixth.
Mount St. Mary's built up their 3-0 lead before that, beginning with a Manni RBI single to score Del Giorno in the third inning. In the fifth, Tristan Koerner chipped in a run-scoring single, plating Del Giorno and Kelsey Bandelow.
Bowman earned the start in her final collegiate outing, posting four scoreless innings. In the sixth, senior
Dani Brown collected an infield single to cap off her career.
