Westminster, Md. (March 24, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's continued its dominant run with a 7-0 sweep over McDaniel on Monday afternoon. The Mountaineers have won eight matches in a row to improve to 10-3 on the season.
The Mount controlled every singles match, winning all six in straight sets. Alessio Guarino set the tone at No. 1 singles with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory over Jake Kegley. Nate Helms followed with a near-flawless performance at No. 2, conceding just one game against Connor Neal. Andrew Allen was perfect at No. 3, shutting out Quinn Dietsche 6-0, 6-0. Oscar Castro, Joshua Johnson, and Ian Ramirez completed the sweep with strong wins at the No. 4, 5, and 6 spots.
The dominance carried into doubles play, where Mount St. Mary's secured all three matches with ease. Filippos Zachiotis and Ian Ramirez took an 8-2 win at No. 1, while Helms and Allen rolled to an 8-0 victory at No. 2. Castro and Johnson matched that effort, also winning 8-0 at No. 3.
The Mount returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on Friday when they travel to face Rider.
