Mount Men's Tennis Edges Howard, Women Fall to the Bison

Washington, D.C. (February 21, 2025)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team improved to 3-3 this season with a 4-3 win at Howard on Friday. The women's team fell to 1-6 this year with a 4-0 loss to the Bison.

On the men's side, Filippos Zachiotis earned a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles over Kendrick Lash while Lucas Evans downed Daniel Dunac, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 to secure a win at No. 4 singles. The Mount took the win at No. 6 singles by default. Th eMountaineers took two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Alexi Roy and Akarsh Gaonkar earned a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles while the Mount won No. 3 by default.

For the women's team, Howard swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point, and posted wins at the top three singles spots to secure the win.

The Mount men's and women's tennis teams host Hampton on Sunday at the Mount St. Mary's tennis courts. The match is scheduled to start at 1 pm.
