Westminster, Md. (September 20, 2024)—Mount St. Mary's swept past McDaniel, 9-0, on Friday afternoon to improve to 2-0 this season in dual matches.
The Mount swept all three doubles matches, yielding just one game in the three sets.
Filippos Zachiotis and
Ian Ramirez cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.
Oscar Castro and
Nate Helms swept No. 2 doubles, 8-0, while
Joshua Johnson and
Andrew Allen also swept their opponents, 8-0, at the No. 3 position.
In singles play, Castro earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles with Allen taking a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Johnson,
Daniel Haddadin, Helms and Ramirez also collected singles wins for the Mount.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Rick McClure Men's Tennis Invitational hosted by Loyola on September 27-29.
