EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 17, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's women's golf rallied from fourth place to win the Battle at the Creek in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on Tuesday. Shooting 310 on the final day, the Mountaineers finished in first after a phenomenal day of play, taking the tournament by four strokes ahead of Monmouth in second. Monmouth finished runner-up with a one-stroke lead over Bucknell and Sacred Heart who finished tied for third.
Junior
Makensy Knaub once again led the way for the Mountaineers on the individual leaderboard. Knaub finished tied for second place with a gross score of 234 (76-79-79, +21).
Erika Cui finished on the precipice of the top 10, finishing tied for 12
th with a +27 score of 240 (79-82-79).
Jennifer Sorkin and
Naomi Yacyshen finished tied for 15
th with a gross score of 241 (+28).
Allie Sexton finished in 20
th with a score of +32 (245) and
Anna Serrano completed all rounds for a 286 (96-89-101, +73).
In total, the team shot a +102 (317-326-310) across the two-day event.
