EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 10, 2024) –
Jennifer Sorkin and
Makensy Knaub lead Mount St. Mary's golfers on the second day of the Sacred Heart University Fall Classic with two top ten placements. As a team, the Mountaineers held their spot as second on the leaderboard, shooting +47 (335) on the second day to give a total stroke amount of 945.
Sorkin finished in ninth place following an 85 day and a total shooting of 235 between the two days (74-76-85, +19). Knaub finished in tenth being one point behind Sorkin in shooting total (236) following an 83 day.
Naomi Yacyshen and Erika Cui finished tied for fourteenth with a total of 238 strokes. Yacyshen follows an 87 (+15) day while Cui follows an 82 (+10) day.
Anna Serrano completed the third round with a 304 (99-102-103).
Allie Sexton was disqualified for the final round of the classic.
Boston University held onto first place, 52 strokes ahead of the Mountaineers in second after the third round. The Mount held onto a 10-stroke lead in front of third place Merrimack.
