LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (April 21st, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's finished in fifth place following their highest round of 297 today at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships with a total score of 875 (+11). Men's golf straddled together 166 pars, 42 birdies, and one eagle concluding the MAAC Championships. Their score breaks into the school's history books replacing the five spot previously shot in Maryland set back in 2011.
Ben Smith tied for second place with a score 213 (-3) after shooting a shot above par today and finishing just one stroke out first place. Smith finished with an eagle, 11 birdies and 32 pars. Smith's score of 68, shot on day two was the third lowest score of the entire tournament.
Devin Smith finished tied for eighth place with a final score of 215 (-1) after also shooting a shot above par today. Smith finished tied for third with 38 pars made, while notching nine birdies.
Siena College won the tournament with a final score of 860 (-4) while Fairfield University finished second with a score of 863 (-1). Ben Ortwein of Rider finished atop the individual leaderboard with a final score of 212 (-1).
Juan Fradera finished first in par five efficiency with a 4.42 stroke average, while tying for 25
th in the tournament with a final score of 224 (+8).
Aaron Sorkin finished 28
th with a final score of 225 (+9), while
Santiago Bonequi tied for 29
th with a final score of 227 (+11).
