Women’s Golf Shatters School Record to Maintain Fifth Place at MAAC Championships

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (April 20th, 2024) – Women's golf set out to accomplish goals this off season and that they have as they shot a program historic 294 (+6) shattering the previous school record of 304 at the Bucknell Invitational in 2022. The Mountaineers went from shooting 36 over yesterday to six over today, an astonishing turning point for the young squad.
 
TEAM RESULTS | INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
 
Naomi Yacsyhen is the Mount's top competitor following day two of the MAAC Championships after posting an even round of 72 today and accumulating a total score of 152 (+8). The team posted the lowest score of the MAAC Championships in round two with 294.
 
The University of Albany currently holds first place with a total score of 591 (+15) while Lucia Esteban of Albany is in first atop the individual leaderboard with a total score of 143 (-1).
 
Makensy Knaub is tied for 15th after also shooting an even par round today with a cumulative tally of 154 (+10). Jennifer Sorkin and Erika Cui are tied for 21st with a tally of 156 (+12), Sorkin shot one over par today. Allie Sexton is tied for 36th with a total score of 169 (+25).
