April 16, 2024--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team closed out Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play, dropping a pair of matches. The Mount fell to Siena, 6-1, on Sunday night before being edged by Marist, 4-3, on Monday afternoon. The Mountaineers are now 7-14 on the season while finish MAAC play with an 0-6 mark.
In the loss to Marist, the Mount took the 1-0 lead in the match by securing the doubles point.
Elliot Stevens and
Victor Mignot won at the No. 1 spot, 7-5, while
Filippos Zachiotis and
Jarrett Karnibad captured a 6-3 win at the No. 2 position. In singles play, Zachiotis won at the No. 2 position while Pablo Martinez Zuccard earned a win at No. 6.
In the loss to Siena, Stevens and Mignot won at No. 1 doubles, but the Saints took the other two doubles matches by identical 6-4 scores to earn the doubles point. The Mount's point in the match was a Zachiotis victory at No. 2 singles.
The Mount concludes the season with a 4:00 p.m. home match against Gettysburg on Wednesday.
