Mount Men's Tennis Edged by Rider, 4-3

Lawrenceville, N.J. (April 10, 2024)--Mount St. Mary's men's tennis was edged by Rider, 4-3, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mount (7-12, 0-4 MAAC) took two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point and a 1-0 lead in the match. Elliot Stevens and Victor Mignot teamed up for a 6-3 win at the No. 1 doubles position while Filippos Zachiotis and Jarrett Karnibad posted a 6-3 win at the No. 2 doubles spot in the lineup.

In singles play, Zachiotis prevailed over Dhruv Tangri at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 7-6, while Akarsh Gaonkar was a 6-1, 6-1 victor over Nathan Slattery at No. 3 singles. The Broncs, however, were able to capture the other four singles matches to earn the win.

Mount St. Mary's is back in action at Siena on Sunday.
