Emmitsburg, Md. (March 8, 2024)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team swept visiting SUNY Oneonta, 7-0, at the Mount St. Mary's Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.

In doubles play, the Mount's No. 1 tandem of Filippos Zachiotis and Jarrett Karnibad crusied to a 6-1 win over August LePique and William Schmid.  Victor Mignot and Elliot Stevens had a 6-0 win over Chris Chippari and Brayden Stuart at No. 2 while Marcel Cronin and Akarsh Gaongkar downed Braden Greenberg and Zachary Bleakman, 6-1, at No. 3.

The Mount swept all six singles matches to move to 4-6 on the season.  Karnibad downed LePique, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles with Aaron Thompson defeating Schmid, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 2.  Ryan Wagner captured No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Chippari with Luke Papayoanou winning, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 over Stuard.  Pablo Martinez Zuccardi was a 6-0, 6-0 victor at No. 5 singles over Bleakman with Jake Allen winning, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6 singles over Greenberg.

Up next, the Mount opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Niagara on March 16.
