Emmitsburg, Md. (March 24, 2024)—The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to visiting Fairfield in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at the Mount St. Mary's Tennis Courts on Sunday.  The Mountaineers are now 5-9 overall and 0-2 in the MAAC this season.

The Stags (7-8, 1-0 MAAC) swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point.  The Mount's top pair of Elliot Stevens and Victor Mignot lost to Thomas Smart and Sam Hodges, 6-4.  At No. 2, Filippos Zachiotis and Jarrett Karnibad were defeated by the same score by Nick Condos and Will O'Brien. 

In singles play, the Mount's Marcel Cronin captured the No. 4 position with a 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8) win over Kostas Kollias while Karnibad prevailed over Keean Shah, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-3) at No. 5 singles.
The Mount returns to action tomorrow with a home match against Saint Francis U at 3:00 p.m.
