URBANA. Md. (March 17th, 2024) - Men's golf opened their spring bout of tournaments with the Capretbagger Classic on Saturday. The Mountaineers tied with Binghamton for fourth on day one with a cumulative score of 304.

Rhode Island leads the pack with a first round score of 293. Devin Smith tied for second in a three-way tie with Connor Bekefi of Rider and Robbie Herzig of Colgate with a score of 71 (-1).

Martin Hurtado shot a 74 (+2), while Ben Smith and Juan Fradera shot a 75 (+3). Christian Molina shot a 76 (+4), while Aaron Sorkin and Santiago Bonequi shot a 79 (+7).Joespeh O'Malley shot an 82 (+10), while Mtchell Gallo shot an 84 (+12). 

Mount St. Mary's is currently tied for second place, shooting six under par.
