University Park, Pa. (February 4, 2024)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team was edged by Penn State, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon.
Elliot Stevens and
Victor Mignot provided the Mount a win at No. 1 doubles.
Jarrett Karnibad won at No. 5 singles for the Mount as well.
The Mount's duo of Stevens and Mignot prevailed, 6-2, at the No. 1 doubles spot with the Mountaineers winning at No. 3 by default. That allowed the Mount to capture the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Karnibad was leading 7-6 (7-5), 2-0 before his opponent retired. The Mount also took No. 6 singles by default, but Penn State won at No. 1 thru No. 4 singles to capture the match.
The Mount (2-3) is back on the courts at Howard on Satuday, February 10, at 12:00 p.m.
