Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at Red Bandana Invitational

VERONA, N.Y. (September 5th, 2023) - Mount St. Mary's men's golf finished in eighth place of the fifteen teams competing in this past weekends Red Bandana Invitational. Their final day struggles shifted them down two spots to a finish in eighth as they shot their highest score of 308 (+20) of the tournament. The team finished with a cumulative score of 912 (+48)  to finish the weekend. 

West Virginia University stole the crown from former first place Boston College, winning the tournament with a final score of 872 (+8) while shooting two rounds just one stroke above par. Max Green of West Virginia finished atop the individual leader board with a total gross score of 213 (-3) through three rounds.

Junior Aaron Sorkin led the Mountaineers all weekend and grossed a score of 222 (+6) through three rounds while finishing in 12th. Junior Devin Smith finished tied for 18th with a final score of 225 (+9), while senior Ben Smith tied for 21st and grossed a score of 226 (+10). Sophomore Nathan Pheng tied for 54th with a final score of 239 (+21), while graduate student Mitchell Gallo placed 81st with a final score of 269 (+53). 

UPCOMING

The Mountaineers return to the tee box on October 1st to compete in the Matthews Auto Intercollegiate in Apalachin, N.Y. at the Links at Hiawatha Landing.
