LEWISBURG, Pa. (September 17^th, 2023) – The Mountaineers sustained two losses today in the conclusion of the Bucknell Invite, 16-8 against Salem and 21-11 against #17 Fordham. Freshman Aaron Tarr led the day with six goals.

Mount St. Mary's stuck with Salem in the first half as they found they weren't being out-played yet were missing opportunities to cash in on goals. The team was hurting themselves as they committed 14 exclusions and allowed too many six on five opportunities for the Quakers. Entering the second half behind 8-4, the Mountaineers were unable to dig themselves out and were outscored 8-4.

The Mountaineers were competing with one of the top teams in the nation and in the Mid Atlantic Water Polo Association conference (MAWP) in the first half as they were able to keep the score within four goals, 12-8 at halftime. Improvement was made as Coach Vink seemed to have adjusted fix the penalty issues they had against Salem. The Rams offense was too much for the Mount out of the break as they were outscored 9-4, while missing out on opportunities to score themselves. The Mountaineers lost game two to #17 Fordham 21-11.
