Hamden, Conn. (April 30, 2023) – The Mountaineers drop game three to Quinnipiac 2-10 and fall to 21-21 overall on the season while 7-8 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play. Mount St. Mary's falls to seventh in MAAC standings as Quinnipiac (10-8) and Niagara (8-7) move up to fifth and sixth. MAAC standings can be viewed:

Jeff Davis held the Bobcats off after opening the game with consecutive scoreless innings. Quinnipiac took the lead in third inning after a two-run home run to left field to break the game open. The bobcats scored five more runs in the fourth inning through a few base knocks and a base clearing triple with scored three of those five, 7-0.
David Stirpe responded in the fifth with a solo shot to left field which notches his 13
th of the year.
Scott Seeker followed up with a solo home run of his own in the eighth inning to right field to notch his 13
th of the season. Other than the two solo shots, the Mountaineers had a tough day in the batter's box.
Seeker and Stirpe both had success at the plate after each producing a 2-4 day at the plate with a home run while Seeker added a two-base knock to his performance.
