The Mount Women's Rugby Team, Team Blue, won the Inaugural Navy Legacy 7's Tournament, held at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
The Mount entered 2 teams, Team Blue and Team White. Team Blue, coached by
Julie Crochet and captained by 5

Anasia Martinez went 3-1 with the sole blemish, an early round loss to The US Naval Academy. That loss, only the 2
nd all season for Team Blue, was avenged in the finals.
Their 1
st win of the day was against 12 time National Champion Penn State with The Mount winning 17-5, scores were by:
Katie Stern with a fine weak side scrum attack followed by Mountie Kara Price who powered through the Nittany Lion Defense, actually "Sitting down" a lonely defender. Senior Jalana Jade Garcia, scored a wonderful try with dazzling footwork and great acceleration. Jalana also kicked one conversion.

Tournament Final
The final saw a very determined Mount Blue team Establish their dominance in all aspects of play. Both teams were well versed in ball preservation and offloading passes, but The Mount's superior athleticism, skill and fitness was them through to a 17-5 win punctuated by KC President's last-minute try. KC was a brilliant defender all day in addition to her scoring prowess. She made many try saving tackles all day.

Team White, who were ably led/coached by injured player
Savannah Short, went 1-2 for the day beating West Chester University (19-10) and losses to Penn State (14-17) and The USNA (5-20) .
