Women’s Golf Tied for Fifth Following Day One of MAAC Championships

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (April 21, 2023) – Women's golf is currently tied for fifth with a favorable combined score of 308 following day one of the MAAC Championships. Their score today ties the school record for Team One Round that was just accomplished this week on April 17th, 2023 at the Quail Valley Spring Invitational. Naomi Yacyshen is day one's top performer for the Mount after shooting a 76 (+4) on the day and tied for 11th.
 
Yacyshen shot four birdies and eight pars on the day, while Jennifer Sorkin and Chloe Sipe shot three birdies. Makensy Knaub notched 13 pars on the day, while Erika Cui recorded two birdies and 10 pars.
 
Quinnipiac is leading the tournament with a score of 291, just three over par. Julia Towne of Fairfield University is leading the pack after shooting a 67 (-5) on the day.


Knaub and Sipe are tied for 13th after shooting a 77 (+5), while Sorkin and Erika Cui are tied for 18th after shooting a 78 (+6).
