Littlestown, Pa. (April 18, 2023) – The women's golf team broke two school records after hosting the Quail Valley Spring Invitational. On Day one the team broke the school record for best team round with a combined score of 308. On day two the women's team consisting of
Jennifer Sorkin,
Naomi Yacyshen,
Chloe Sipe,
Makensy Knaub, and
Erika Cui broke the record for best two rounds of golf with a combined score of 621. The score rooted the old record by 31 strokes which was set at the NEC Championships in 2009.
Mount St. Mary's placed first in the tournament with their record-setting score of 621. The second-place team in La Salle finished with a final combined score of 671 (+95).
Sorkin was the Mount's top competitor after shooting a career high 74 in today's round (+2) and a combined result of 151 (+7). Yacyshen finished second with final score of 155 (+11), while Cloe Sipe finished third with a final score of 158 (+14).
Erika Cui finished fifth with a final score of 160 (+16), while
Makensy Knaub finished in 10
th with a final score of 167 (+23).
Allie Sexton finished 14
th with a final score of 172 (+28).
Mount St. Mary's second team was a farewell tour for two seniors and one graduate student in
Olivia Block,
Taylor Woodward, and
Michaila Cheung. Block posted a final score of 186 (+42), while Woodward posted a final score of 200 (+56).
Michaila Cheung posted a final score of 174 (+30), while
Suzanna Martin posted a final score of 183 (+39).

Mount St. Mary's women's golf will compete in the MAAC Championships beginning April 21
st at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
