EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 11, 2023) – Combining for a 312 (+24) team score on the final day, Mount St. Mary's women's golf finished in seventh place at the Lady Bison Invitational, hosted by Howard University at the Baltimore Country Club. The result maintained their position from the first two rounds.
Jennifer Sorkin led the Mountaineers with a 76 (+4) in the third round. Staying consistent on the front and back nines, the freshman registered birdies on holes 2 and 15. Sorkin ended the tournament tied for 18
th.
Erika Cui and
Makensy Knaub were more up-and-down on the day, but still completed solid performances with 78's (+6) on the afternoon.
Naomi Yacyshen rounded out the countable team scores with an 80 (+8).
Chloe Sipe ended the day with an 82 (+10), followed by
Allie Sexton at 89 (+17) and
Michaila Cheung with a 92 (+20).
Georgetown won the competition with an 895 (+31), followed by the hosts Howard and Delaware State.
Next week, teams gather at Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, Pennsylvania for the Quail Valley Spring Invitational.
