Emmitsburg, Md. (February 9, 2023) – Following day two of the 2023 MAAC Championships the Mount's men's team is currently in seventh place with a score of 88.5, while the women's team holds eighth with a score of 99.
Junior
Maddy Samuels broke the school record in the 50-yard freestyle tallying a time 23.58, a record previously held by Amanda Moore (23.76) set all the way back in February of 2016 at the NEC Championships.

Maddy Samuels placed fourth in the 200-freestyle relay notching a time 1:35.89.

Nicholas Santorelli raced in the 500 free tallying a time 4:39.71, just three seconds away from breaking his own record (4:36.21) set in March of 2021. Freshman
Austin Toland and graduate student
Peter Jones raced in the 50 free, Toland marking a time of 20.98 while Jones tallied a time 21.08. Toland was .12 seconds away from breaking the school record set by his teammate
Peter Jones in 2020.
The men's team consisting of Jones, junior
Jacob Wallace, junior
Jason Fitch, and Toland placed seventh in the 200 free relay tallying a time of 1:27.07.
The MAAC Championships are set to continue tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. The finals begin tomorrow at 6 p.m.
