Emmitsburg, Md (February 8, 2023) – Day one of the 2023 MAAC Championships included three relay events in the women's and men's 200 medley, the men's one meter dive, and concluded with the women's 800 freestyle. Following the first day, the women's team sits in sixth place with 50 points, while the men's team holds sixth place with 59 points.
 
Junior Jason Fitch, sophomore Aidan Grady, junior Jacob Wallace, and graduate student Peter Jones represented the Mount in the 200-yard medley. The team, in a very tight heat, finished in fourth place tallying a time of 1:29.91 while breaking the school record (1:31.03) previously set by John Mata, Wallace, Ethan Pham, and Jones on March 30, 2021.
 
The Mount's women's team placed sixth in the 200-medley with a final time of 1:45.77 while finishing seventh in the 800 freestyle relay notching a time 7:51.93.
 
The 2023 MAAC Championships preliminaries begin tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. while the finals begin at 6:00 p.m.
