Box Score Washington, D.C. (February 19, 2023)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team lost at Howard, 5-2, on Sunday.   The Mountaineers are now 0-5 to start the spring season.

Howard took two of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point.  The Mount's duo of Jarrett Karnibad and Filippos Zachiotis provided a 7-5 victory at the No. 2 doubles position.  However, Howard captured the No. 1 doubles match by a score of 6-4 while winning at No. 3 doubles by a 6-3 margin.

In singles play, Zachiotis was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Hassimiyou Dieng at No. 3 singles while Karnibad was a 6-0, 7-6 (7-2) victory at No. 5 singles over Gabe Knowles.  Luke Papayoanou was edged at No. 6 singles by Pierce Westbrook, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) with Giovanni Abriola dropping a three-set match at No. 4 singles to Daniel Dunac, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.

The Mount men's tennis team returns to the court on Saturday, February 25, with a 6:45 p.m. match at George Mason.
