East Meadow, N.Y. (December 1st, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's swim team traveled to Washington D.C. to compete in three-day ECAC Winter Championships. The men's team currently holds sixth place with a point total of 226, while the women's team is in fifth place with 266 points.
The dive teams traveled to Baltimore, Md. this weekend to compete in the H2O Invitational.
Timmy Bonner placed fifth in the 1-meter diving event with a point total of 188.20.
The women's team opened their final relays with a third-place finish in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay raced by
Meghan Speicher,
Hanna Aggen,
Maddy Samuels, and
Christina Lazari tallying a time of 1:35.10, just sub one second from the program's record time.
Lauren Wetzel followed with a 16
th place nab in the 200-IM with a finals time of 2:11.71.
Christina Lazari highlighted the day with a fifth-place nod in the 50-Free with a finals time of 23.86, while
Maddy Samuels finished seventh in the 50 free with a finals time of 24.15 seconds.
The men's team kicked their day off with a second-place finish in the 200 Free raced by
Antonio Gurri,
Griffin Distler,
Lucas Hancock, and
Austin Toland notching a time of 1:22.21, stealing a program record set back in 2020.
Liam Rooney followed with a 13
th place nod in the 200-IM after posting a finals time of 1:56.47, while
Nicholas Santorelli finished 12
th in the 500-Free with a finals time of 4:41.77.
Austin Toland highlighted the day with a third-place finish in the 50-Free tallying a finals time of 20.48 seconds, trumping the previous record set by
Peter Jones in 2020.
