EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 19, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's rallied to level the score at halftime, but a strong second half by the George Washington Revolutionaries gave the Mount a 16-12 defeat in the final game of the season.
In his ultimate game with the team,
Eli Thalos – a member of the inaugural squad – finished with four goals. He tied with freshman
Aaron Tarr for the team high. Second Team All-MAWPC selection
Chrysostomos Valavanis had a multi-goal game with two and drew five exclusions.
Sherif Hosni played in goal, earning seven saves with two assists and a steal.
After falling behind 6-4, the Mountaineers staged a rally with Thalos and Tarr scoring to level the contest at six. They mustered a second run with three strikes over the last 1:23 of the second quarter to pull it back to 9-9. But George Washington pulled away with a five-goal third period to seal the victory.
The season concludes with a final record of 7-23.
