ANNAPOLIS, Md. (October 22nd, 2023) – Women's rugby traveled down to Annapolis, Maryland this weekend to challenge the Navy Midshipmen on the pitch. The Mountaineers scored early and often, as they took an early 12-5 lead, however the result of the game ended in a tie, 17-17.
Monet Hubbard scored the first two tries for the Mount, while
Kameka President scored the final try to knot the game at 17.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Monet Hubbard and the Mountaineers cashed in first on a try just 1:40 into the game, Katherine Stern with a successful conversion kick, 7-0.
- Navy answered with a try just 20 seconds later, conversion kick unsuccessful, 7-5.
- Hubbard scored the second Mount try, 12-5.
- USNA scored two unanswered tries in the 38th and 48th minutes to take their first lead of the game, 17-12.
- Kameka President and the Mountaineers fought back with the last try of the game to knot it up at 17, conversion kick unsuccessful.
