Mount Tennis Grabs Three Wins on Day 2 of ITA Atlantic Regional

COMPLETE RESULTS

Lynchburg, Va--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team posted three wins on the second day of the ITA Atlantic Regionals at Liberty University. 

In the bronze doubles draw, Luke Papayoanou and Aaron Thompson earned an 8-3 win over Jakub Solarski and Deniz Okyay of Norfolk State, 8-3, in the round of 16.  The duo lost to George Mason's Hayden Postin and Zavan Fahim, 8-4, in the quarterfinals.

In the bronze doubles consolations, Elliot Stevens and Victor Mignot defeated Bucknell's William Robinson and Ethan Escalando, 8-2, while Marcel Cronin and Akarsh Gaonkar fell to Matt Cardano and Ryan Boland of Looyola, 8-6.

In the bronze singles consolations, Zachiotis defeated Loyola's Oliver Davey, 6-4, 6-3, while Stevens fell to Diego Cueto de Romana of Virginia Tech, 6-3, 7-5 and Mignot lost to Thomas Wakefield of Villanova, 6-2, 7-5.

The Mount's Zachiotis and Jarrett Karnibad will play their first match in the silver doubles draw on Friday at 4 pm.
