RESULTS

Lynchburg, Va.—Mount St. Mary's men's tennis captured a pair of victories on the opening day of the ITA Atlantic Regional held at Liberty University on Wednesday.

In singles play in the bronze draw, Jarrett Karnibad opened with a 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 victory over Norfolk State's Boris Lunin to advance to the round of 32.  In that round, Karnibad was downed by George Mason's Jacco Arenda, 6-3, 6-3.  Elliot Stevens fell to Villanova's Eitan Khromchenko, 6-3, 6-1, Filippos Zachiotis was edged by Villanova's Justin Frattarelli, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, and Victor Mignot fell in three sets to Liberty's Ernst Gouws, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, in the round of 64. 

In doubles play, Aaron Thompson and Luke Papayoanou advanced to the round of 16 in the bronze draw with an 8-4 win over Ryan Nguyen and Frattarelli of Villanova.  The Mount duo will face Jakub Solarski and Deniz Okyahy of Norfolk State in the round of 16 looking to advance to the Silver Draw.  Stevens and Mignot were clipped by Edson Sanchez and Francisco Sinopoli of James Madison, 8-6, while Marcel Cronin and Akarsh Gaonkar fell to Bucknell's Oscar Bain and Adamantios Stavrakas, 8-5.
