Early Score for Mount Rugby Gives Way to Army Outburst

WEST POINT, N.Y. (September 3, 2022) - The 2022 Mount St. Mary's rugby 15's season started off with a bang Saturday in their season opener at Army. But after scoring their first try minutes into the game, momentum swung back to the Army Black Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
    - A few minutes into the game, the Mount caught fire with a drive towards the north end zone. Kaylen Thomas for the Mountaineers finished off a try with a wide open run down the left sideline with room to spare, allowing the place the try at the middle of the field. The conversion kick proved successful for a 7-0 lead.  
    -  The Black Knights took over from there, rattling off 26 points by the half. 
    - Never looking back, Army continued marching forward, extending the lead to 55 by final whistle.
