(September 19, 2022) – Jennifer Sorkin is the Mountaineers' top competitor, tied for 19^th, after day one of the Hornet Classic at the Creek after shooting a 154 (+12) across two rounds of golf. She entered the second round with a score 80 (+9), then had an electric second round of golf shooting a 74 (+3). The Mount St. Mary's women's team is in ninth place after collectively shooting 644 (+76).
 
Howard University is currently in first place with a team score of 586 (+18). Kyra Cox of Howard University is in first place on the individual leader boards with a score of 144 (+2) after day one.
 
Freshman Makensy Knaub is tied for 29^th shooting 157 (+15), while freshman Naomi Yacyshen is tied for 45^th after shooting a 164 (+22). Sophomore Erika Cui is in 53^rd shooting 169 (+27), while graduate student Michaila Cheung is tied for 56^th after shooting a 174 (+32). We had two solo golfers today in Chloe Sipe and Allie Sexton, Sipe is tied for 27^th shooting 156 (+14), while Sexton is tied for 48^th shooting 165 (+23).
