Ben Smith started this tournament very strong, shooting a 69 (-2) after round one. He started staggering in round two to put him behind, nonetheless, he played well in round three which landed him tied for 32
nd shooting a total score of 218 (+5) over three rounds of golf. The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team finished tied for 14
th place with Youngstown State shooting a team score of 892 (+40).
Appalachian State was cruising in round one, shooting a team score of 270 (-14) after their first round, in round two they came back to earth, shooting a team score of 280 (-4), and lost all momentum in round three shooting 295 (+11). Their first two rounds were enough to straddle the lead in the end as they finished in first place shooting a team score of 845 (-7).
Tyler Jones of the Marshall Thundering Herd claimed first place among the individual leader boards shooting a total score of 205 (-8).
Junior
Hank Schaefer began to shoot very well after round one, finishing tied for 52
nd with a total score of 221 (+8), while sophomore
Devin Smith finished tied for 67
th with a total score of 224 (+11). Graduate student
Matthew Kinsey finished tied for 88
th with a total score of 232 (+19), while freshman
Nathan Pheng finished in 94
th place with a total score of 241 (+28).
