Baseball Drops 11-5 Decision at Wagner; Saturday Postponed

EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 14, 2022) – Battling the elements in Lakewood, New Jersey, Mount St. Mary's baseball fell 11-5 to the Wagner Seahawks in game one of a three-game set. Game two, scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday (May 14) is postponed, to be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday (May 15).

On Friday, Shane Wockley belted his third home run of the season – a solo shot in the third – and Efrain Correa, Jr. continued his clutch hitting with two RBIs. The Mount made the most of their opportunities, turning six hits and five free passes into five runs.

Wockley's blast was coupled with an RBI base hit from Tyler Long to score Ryan Fisher. In the eighth, a sacrifice fly from Brady Drawbaugh set the table for Correa's hit.

The defeat sends the Mount's record to 12-31 overall and 5-17 in the Northeast Conference.

First pitch on Sunday is at 11 a.m. from ShoreTown Ballpark.
