Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Hobart 14-7 in Season Finale

EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 30, 2022) – The Mount men's lacrosse dropped their final game of the season 14-7 as seven different Mountaineers scored a goal today. Brendan Lantieri tallied three points with one goal and two assists, while Connor McMahon had two points on one goal and one assist. The Mount was outshot 74-31 by the Statesmen.
 
Hobart's Ryan Archer had five points, while Chad Bach had three assists with one goal.
 
 The Mount's Gunnar Luckoski made 17 saves in net, and Andrew Preston made five saves. Kevin Holtby made 10 saves for the Statesmen.
 
Hobart started the game on a 4-0 run that lasted just under four minutes. Jack Bauer got his fourth goal of the year to cut the deficit to 4-1. The Mount and the Statesmen traded late goals, with Tyler Smith scoring his first goal to be trailing 5-2.
 
Archer started the second quarter with his first goal of the game to make the score 6-2. Jake Krieger and C. McMahon each scored to put the Mount down by two, but Hobart ended the second quarter on a 4-0 run to increase their lead to 10-4.
 
The third quarter started with both teams trading possessions back forth until the 5:01 mark when Hobart scored to make the score 11-4. Jared McMahon scored with 28 seconds left on a nice pass from Kyle DeCrispino. The Statesmen scored with five seconds remaining to have a 12-5 score heading into the fourth quarter.    
 
Hobart scored two goals to open the fourth quarter to increase their lead to 14-5. Lantieri scored his 15th goal this year to cut the lead to eight. Noah Daniels got his ninth goal this season on a feed from Lantieri to reach the final scoreline of 14-7.
 
Connor Beals went 4-out-of-18 (22.2%), and Ethan Holobinko went 1-out-of-4 (25%) from the X today.
