EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 10, 2022) – Sophomore Hank Schaefer shoots a first-round score of 73 (+1) to be tied in 10th place at the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational. The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team shoots a combined score of 301 (+13) to be tied in eighth place after the first round.
 
Iona leads the team leaderboard after 18 holes shooting a combined score of 292 (+4), while Iona's Justin Burkhamer leads the player leaderboard after the first day of competition shooting a score of 69 (-3).
 
Senior Matthew Kinsey is tied for 27th place after shooting a 75 (+3) on the first day of competition, while junior Sergio Quijano Sanin shot a 76 (+4) to be tied for 40th place. Senior Michael Robinson sits tied for 51st place, shooting a first-round score of 77 (+5). Freshman Devin Smith scored an 82 (+10) to sit tied for 96th place to round out the Mountaineers.
 
The Mount wraps up the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational tomorrow morning.
