EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 26, 2022) – Senior Matthew Kinsey shot a 70 (-2) in the first round to be tied for fifth place after the first day of the Battle at Rum Pointe, while the Mount St. Mary's is tied for seventh place in the team competition with a combined score of 299 (+11).
 
Rhode Island leads the team leaderboard after 18 holes shooting a combined score of 285 (-3), while Cornell's Samuel King leads the player leaderboard, shooting a score of 67 (-5).
 
Sophomore Hank Schaefer and senior Michael Robinson sit tied for 18th place with a score of 74 (+2). Freshman Devin Smith and sophomore Sergio Quijano Sanin shot a first-round score of 81 (+9) to be tied for 93rd place. Junior Mitchell Gallo rounded out the Mountaineers with an 83 (+11) to be tied for 104th place.
 
The Mount wraps up the Battle at Rum Pointe tomorrow, teeing off at 9:00 a.m.
